Tuesday began with glorious weather, a perfect day for everything we had planned. Starting at North Range in the centre of Cambridge the team took the baton and began making their way through the city.
A quick stop so Kieran could take in the view of Kings Colleges in Cambridge and then on they went.
One of the best way's to experience Cambridge is by punt. Kieran was at the ready with his strawberries and Champagne as he made his way down the River Cam.
The baton was passed from the punt via a crabbing line as our next volunteers hopped on their skateboards and the team made their way to the Chemistry of Health site.
With Chemistry of Health just across the road from Stephen Perse the site teams decided the best way to transport the baton was by catapult.
The team hopped on their bikes, scooter and donned their skates to make their way over to Great Kneighton. They got off to a bit of a bumpy start, the paths in Cambridge are not ideal for roller skating, but with a little help from the bike they made it to the guided bus way and it was smooth sailing from there.
It had already been a busy day in Cambridge and they had reached the outskirts of the city with only a couple more sites to visit. Tired, achy and just a little bit sun burnt the team were relieved to pass the baton to SCL Interiors and their men on stilts.
They made their way on stilts, crossing the steep bridge in their stride and attracting the attention and beeps of a few passing cars, to the Capella site - a Major Projects and Eastern joint venture.
The team at Capella were all in place to welcome the boys to the site.
The day had consisted of a real assortment of eco-friendly travel methods and it wasn't stopping there. Next up was the Viking Boat push.
The Capella site team created the Viking Boat using scrap materials, they then asked the local nursery to decorate the shields for the boat to add some colour. Led by Kieran the Viking Boat was pushed from Capella to ABCAM. Representatives from our local charities, EACH, Parkinsons UK, East Anglian Air Ambulance and Addenbrookes Charitable Trust, were there to cheer the team on as they pushed the boat.
The day finished with a BBQ back at the Capella site.
