A massive well done to the Manchester 2020 team, who enjoyed a great day on the 2020 challenge trail from TFGM Bolton (Thanks guys), onto GMF&RS Training Centre in Bury and into our Trafford Park office to join charity partners Big Change Manchester.
A huge thank you to Lord Mayor Carl Austin-Behan, for his support, and highly entertaining speech.
More of the action can be viewed on our Twitter feeds.....
This year Build UK are aiming to raise over £200k for charity with the 2020 challenge, the event will link up all the regional businesses on a ‘green’ journey and is open to everyone to take part.
Starting at the most northerly Kier site on Orkney the challenge is to join up each business on the green relay route that takes in all Kier offices and as many sites as possible. The journey has to be completed in 2020 hours and must finish at the most southerly site in Cornwall.
The challenge is to complete the green relay using only ‘non-motorised’ forms of transport such as walking, running, horse-riding, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, land surfing, surfing, ice skating, cycling…..
The monies raised will go towards the Kier Foundation charity this year ‘Alzheimer’s’ and to local charities that have been nominated by each of the local offices.
We would be grateful if you could help us raise as much money as possible by either sponsoring our journey or making a pledge.
As a sponsor you would be invited to join in the challenge at any stage. We have a range of sponsorship opportunities available and for our main sponsor the package also includes a team building day for ten people, which will make up part of the journey. The event takes place over four weeks providing plenty of press opportunities at local and regional levels for all sponsors.
We do hope that you will join us in some way on our journey and help us to raise us much money as we can for our chosen charities, who work so hard to support their local causes.
