Kieron visits Windsor!

Round two of the Kier Newbury 2020 Challenge!

After a smooth and fun first day of the Newbury office 2020 challenge everyone was ready and rearing to go for day two!

In the last day for the Newbury team we covered 51.5 miles.
From the glorious sites of Thatcham to catching the sun in Slough.

The day started with cycling from Thatcham train station to our Wren School site in Reading.
After a encouraging cheer from the staff on site our cyclists were off again!

Holding the banner with pride at Wren school!
Next on the list was our Longwater avenue site based at Green park in Reading.
If you work on Green park did you see our 2020 team cycling past your office?
If not than maybe they were too quick and we really do have some professional cyclists on our hands!

After a brief stop at Longwater the cyclists were off again! This time they were heading the short distance of 1.7 miles down to our Reading Gateway site.
Handing over the baton to the next group of cyclists at Reading Gateway!

Next on the agenda was making their way down to our BHR site in Crowthorne. James and Jack made the 11.6 mile cycle in the glorious bright sunshine. Our BHR team were ready and waiting outside to cheer on the handover to the next group of cyclists!

Handing over the baton at the BHR site in Crowthrone, Berkshire

The cyclists are off! Pedalling down to the Look out discovery centre in Bracknell.
This journey involved cycling through the beautiful Swinley forest. Which is all in a days work for the Newbury Kier team!

Richard and Jack enjoying their cycle through the forest!

The baton was then handed over to our road cyclists who were travelling the 11 miles down to the very royal Windsor castle! At Windsor castle our cyclists met up with our walkers to hand over the baton ready for the final 3.7 miles to be completed!

Meanwhile Kieron was making the most of his afternoon out in Windsor and he decided to walk the long mile!

The walkers made sure they packed plenty into the 3.7 mile walk from Windsor Castle to our JLR site in Slough!

Stopping for some photo opportunities with Windsor Castle in the background and then making their way to our Observatory House site in Slough. Don't worry, they made sure that the baton was being carefully carried all the way!

They reached the final destination bang on time and ready to be greeted by some food and of course the ice cream man!

What a fantastic way to end the Kier Construction Newbury Challenge 2020!
A big round of applause to everyone who got involved. Dusting off their walking boots, putting on their helmets and getting wet canoeing!

The baton was then handed to the London team.
Good luck to London and we are sure that your team will have just as much fun as we all did!
