Day 8 for Southern ( Sunday 25th June) it was time for a family picnic at Pooh Corner in Ashdown Forest but first off it was a 14 mile bike ride from Rotherfield. Well done to Phil Ithier for managing to get up on a Sunday! Kieran and Kiera also made an appearance at the picnic.
From Pooh Corner is was over to Martin Stilman who did an amazing 22 mile run from Hartfield to Gatwick!
Monday was a 3 mile scooter from Gatwick to Cornerstone, they have definitely borrowed the scooters for the kids!! They also fitted in time to have a little practise.
It was then a mile long konga line from the Cornerstone site all the way back to the office for the party! What did the public think!
It was then a nice early start on Tuesday morning for a 30mile bike ride lead by Darren Howe supported by Steve Cresswell, Andy Plait, Jonathan Payne and Gary Whittle. This started off at Crawley and finished off at Windlesham School.
Kieran and Kiera making an appearance at Windlesham School
where 300 children participated in a baton race and enjoyed zoom lollies
curtesy of kier.
Just in time before the heavens opened and did not stop for
the rest of the day! It was then over to Ashley Loveridge and James Popora to
take part in a 10 mile tandem ride in the pouring rain to the river Adur. Let
hope they have good balancing skills!
Even the rain doesn’t stop the boys from kayaking 10 miles
down the River Adur, well done boys! Jon McNamara, Adrian Parsons, James
Dudley.
Richard Knight then took over to run the final 2 miles from
the River Adur to Buck and St Nicks school, don’t know what I would rather be
doing running in 34degree heat like last week or in the rain!
Finally to wrap up Crawley park in the 2020 challenge it was
over to Steve Cresswell to cycle 6 miles from St Nics school to Worthing
Hospital where Solent were waiting to take over the baton !!
Well done to Solent who
started off their part of the 2020 challenge help a quiz night raising over
£1000 on the night!!
